What is a "Product Feature"?

A product feature is an attribute that is specified for any particular item of stock. For example the "Metal" feature for product xyz could be "Gold", "Silver" or "Platinum".
Can I change the ring size or chain length of a stock item?

Yes. When adding the item to your shopping cart, please specify your required sizing in the Special Features section. Our customer services will contact you regarding this request before the order is placed.
Can I custom order a piece of jewelry I have seen somewhere else?

At Caribbean Gems, we would be very happy to special order or custom make a piece of jewelry that you can describe or have a picture of (from another website or magazine for example). Our goal is to make it better in quality and lower in price.
Can I get a discount if I have a large order?

Yes! We are pleased to help you out with group orders for your wedding party, circle of best-friends, play group, team, graduating class or large orders of multiple items. Call our customer service department and ask for special discounts on larger orders.
Do you charge Sales Tax on your products

All our jewelry is sold duty and tax free. US and Canadian border authorities may charge import duty at their discretion and this is not under our control. We have experienced that very few clients have to pay duty and even when duty is paid, the total price is still a lot lower than what you would pay in the USA or Canada.
Does Caribbean Gems have a layaway program?

Yes, we have an interest free layaway program. Simply call our toll free number 1-800-848-7925 between 9am and 6pm EST and speak to one of our staff members who will gladly assist you with your selection and answer any questions. If you prefer, you can e-mail us at sales@caribbeangems.com. Once your selection is made and we receive first payment, it will be held until your final payment and then shipped promptly. Generally we allow up to a term of six months for our layaway program. Our layaway program is for ‘in stock’ items. Custom pieces are excluded.

The credit will be made within 3 business days of receipt and verification of the merchandise. Credits usually show up on the following monthly billing cycle after the date of receipt. How should I care for my jewelry?

Most diamond and colored gemstone jewelry can be cleaned in a solution of ammonia and water. An old toothbrush and toothpaste also work wonders for most jewelry. Gemstones that require extra care include opals, emeralds, tanzanite, pearls and many porous gems. These should only be cleaned with mild soap and water only. Always rinse jewelry in clean water after cleaning. Your jewelry should be the last thing you put on. Please avoid applying hairspray or perfume after you have put on your jewelry and avoid other cosmetics that may discolor or damage your jewelry. Jewelry should be cleaned with a soft cloth when necessary.

Our Emeralds generally come from Columbia, our rubies and sapphires from Thailand, our diamonds from Israel, Belgium and India, our gold jewelry from Italy, our watches from Switzerland and so forth. We basically travel to the source of the products so that we can get the finest variety as well as the lowest prices.

How long will it take to get my order?

Most of our orders are shipped via registered mail. All our packages are fully insured so there is no risk to you if a package is not received. Registered mail is normally delivered in 10 to 15 working days. On request, we can ship orders via Fed-Ex. Fed-Ex normally delivers within 48 hours. All orders of in-stock items are generally shipped within 48 hours of receipt of order.
