Marland who was born in Guyana has lived on St. Maarten since 1999. He joined Caribbean Gems in June of 2000 and is our resident Goldsmith. Marland has been practicing goldsmithing since he was 15 years old and over the years he has perfected his skills to become a master jewelry craftsman. Marland is always in our workshop setting diamonds, sizing rings and thus is not on the sales floor often enough to meet with our clients. However, every client who has had the opportunity to watch Marland set a diamond will attest to his professionalism and expertise. Marland got married on valentine’ day in 2007 to his lovely wife Peggy. They have three children which include set of twins so Marland and Peggy have their hands full with the kids. But they enjoy that and Marland especially loves to spend time with his kids.
